Adele,
Wow! Beautiful website. I have eight years experience designing and installing gardens on Cape Cod. I am taking the Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist Exam on Wednesday of this week and came across your website as I was doing some last minute identifications. Your photos have great detail and gave me a better idea of what some shrubs that I am not familiar with look like. Thanks for the help!!
Beth.

I’m so delighted you like it! I’m working very hard and hope to have lots more useful info up in the next several months. Please feel free to comment and add info on plants or topics you know. I’d love the input. What other sites or blogs do you like?

Adele,
This is the most lovely and accessible site! I love the photos of the plants and their context with the rest of the environment. It is so helpful to me. I am not a professional landscaper or even an experienced one, but I love plants and watching them grow, and I so enjoy creating a hospitable yard and garden. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and vision in a way I can access right here from my little computer in Tennessee. (P.S. I lived in D.C. and Virginia for several years and loved it.)

Adele,
I stumbled upon your site tonight while finishing up my first plant book of the Woody Plants classes. Small world we live in! I am just starting out in the same program that you speak of – Site Analysis and Woody Plants Late Spring start in the beginning of April. Quite a bit of fun and effort goes into these class assignments.
Were the classes aligned with real-world skill requirements? Did you intend to jump into landscape design as a new career, or did it find you?
Nice site design!

Hi Karyn,
Sorry it took me a bit to respond. I’ve enjoyed the GW program so much, but in fact I still have the final project to go this summer, though I have been working on projects for nearly as long as I’ve been in the program. To answer your question, yes, I think the skill taught in the classes are extremely useful and real. Good luck to you.
